Meet Your Parenting Coach and Therapist

I’m Brantlee Spurrier. I am a clinically licensed social worker in South Carolina with additional certifications in Family Trauma and Women’s Mental Health. With over 25 years experience, my passion is helping students, adults and families identify stressors, navigate school and life challenges and release trauma to find peace.

Having grown up in rural South Carolina I understand how difficult it can be getting needed services. Location is no longer a barrier for clients in rural South Carolina to access quality mental healthcare. I love the telehealth model because my clients can meet with me in the familiar setting of their own home, maximizing their comfort and ability to dig deep and tackle tough issues.

In my 25+ year career I have worked as a direct service clinician in state mental health programs (NC & SC), as a court appointed private Guardian ad Litem, as a school based mental health provider and as a school social worker. My varied systemic background brings a unique understanding of these often difficult to navigate systems and the frequent challenges families face when interacting with them.

My Therapeutic Approach

I have an eclectic style using strategies from several types of therapy including Solution-Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, from a Trauma-Informed Strengths perspective. We will begin by exploring what prompted you to begin therapy during your intake session. We will also explore family dynamics and discuss health, substance use and mental health history. In the second session, you can expect to establish your primary goals for our therapeutic time and we will build a treatment plan together and start making positive changes.
